D-Day, the Allied Armada: Readings from Sir Martin’s books on the 80th anniversary

6 June at 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Hitler’s December 1941 declaration of war against the United States brought it into the European theatre and the planning for an Allied invasion began.  In his books on the Second World War, on D-Day and in his maps, Sir Martin describes the build-up to the invasion, the deceptions, the landings and the aftermath.  Join us for one of Lady Gilbert’s popular events where she reads selected passages from Sir Martin’s books to paint a picture of what happened 80 years ago that turned the tide of history.
