Destination:  Death (The 80th anniversary of the Wannsee Conference)

20 January at 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

80 years ago, on 20 January 1942, the heads of the Nazi German government departments met to approve and finalise the Final Solution.

Their estimated 11 million Jews of Europe were about to be rounded up and deported to their deaths.

Join Lady Esther Gilbert, widow of Sir Martin as she reads excerpts from his books and places the Wannsee Conference in its context within the Holocaust.

*** New format!***

We will be experimenting with a longer discussion session, after the end of the formal presentation. We will welcome your thoughts on this pivotal historical event and we hope you enjoy the opportunity to hear more informally from Lady Esther and each other.

Please feel free to email bethany@sirmartingilbertlearningcentre.org if there are any questions you’d like to send in advance.

Attendees in the US, please note this talk starts at 11.00am (Pacific Time)/ 2.00pm (Eastern Time).
