Esther Gilbert reads from Sir Martin’s diary of the 1973 October War

17 October at 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free
In October 1973 Martin was in Israel researching Churchill’s 1921 visit there.  He was in Israel when the war broke out and as he had a car, he volunteered.  He also kept a diary. Join Lady Esther Gilbert as she reads excerpts from Martin’s experiences in a war torn Israel 50 years ago.
Due to the current situation in Israel, the scheduled programme on Martin Gilbert and the Churchill biography has been postponed and instead Lady Esther will do a series of readings from Sir Martin’s private diary from when he was in Israel in October 1973.
